We have teamed up with the head-cupper at Daterra to develop a unique and interesting Brazil Single Estate. We can trace our coffee to the three lots where it was grown in the Cerrado region of Minas Gerais, one of the main producers of coffee and milk in the country. Daterra was also the first sustainable coffee farm in Brazil.
The flavours are clean, and the “pulped natural” process retains a high level of sweetness in the finished green beans, certainly more than the traditional processing used throughout Brazil. We use Mundo Novo, a natural cross-pollination of Sumatran and Bourbon. At an altitude of 1.150m, it boasts the best Arabica in the region.
Daterra coffees have been showcased in World Barista Championships, and received many notable awards. The farm is also committed to sustainability: preserving forests, wildlife and waterfalls, treating and recycling used water and educating local communities about the importance of ecology. Daterra also show strong commitment to the community through profit sharing, health care, transportation, and child care.
Our roast profile for this single estate coffee has plunger drinkers in mind, where you will experience medium body, nutty toffee sweetness and a delicate acidity. For our monthly subscribers the espresso option is smooth chocolate with balanced sweetness, mild acidity and unique after taste.
