SCA Barista Skills Course - Professional
This is built for students who have already achieved Intermediate certification. Designed to test advanced skills and detailed knowledge of the science behind processes used, expected from a professional barista - for example, from someone working as a barista for 12 months or more, with some management responsibilities.
Professional Barista Skills
Join us for three days of in-depth coffee training for baristas who want to succeed in the specialty coffee industry.
Successful candidates should have a detailed understanding of their ingredients and of the techniques available to maximise the quality of the drinks made. They should be able to manage the skills of others to provide quality drinks and excellent
customer service. They should be able to maintain their equipment to ensure continued quality.

Length & Location: Training will take place at the Climpson's Academy over three days, courses will run from 0930 - 1700 with a lunch break.
Climpson’s Academy is located opposite the roastery - Unit 5, Helmsley Place, E8 3SB
Training style: Our training has been developed to be accessible to everyone willing and eager to learn. It encompasses a wide range of learning styles, culminating in written and practical exams.
The Barista Trainer: Mr Dan Dunne, our Head of Training, is our super experienced, qualified SCA trainer.
Equipment & Machinery: We’re proud to be partnered with some of the best machine and equipment companies in the industry. When training with us, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and practice on a range of equipment; including La Marzocco PB, GS3 and Victoria Arduino Mythos Grinders.
Food & Beverage: We will feed you lunch as lovingly prepared by the team at Climpson’s Café. If you are very good a sweet treat and as much coffee and filtered water as you can drink in a day will be provided.
Comprised of 4 short practical tests and a written exam (25 questions with a pass rate of 70% required).
Introduction to Coffee and Barista Foundation are recommended (but not mandatory) pre-requisite modules. All knowledge and skill from these modules will be assumed as being held and may be tested through the practical and/or written assessments.
SCA certification fee:
180 Euros for members
270 Euros for non-members
