more information

We now offer multiple espresso grind options: the domestic grind is slightly coarser, perfect for home espresso machines from Sage or De'Longhi; and the commercial grind is the finer option, more suited towards commercial machines from La Marzocco, Sanremo.

Broadway Blend

Our Broadway Blend emphasises closer relationships with many of the same coffees selected each year for their unique representations of origin and processing.

Both of these Broadway Blend components are regular highlights with the return of the Colombia Passiflora to accompany Ethiopia’s washed Hambella. Roasted to match the crisp Spring mornings this is our go-to espresso on Broadway Market with two washed coffees creating a blend that is as balanced as it is sustainable. This is our go-to espresso on Broadway Market and pairs perfectly with milk.

The Details

Grown at over 1,900m the Hambella farm is home to some of Ethiopia's most sophisticated producers and a regular Climpson favourite. The family-owned METAD agricultural group are specialty coffee pioneers with all coffee hand-picked, sorted and washed before drying on raised beds for up to 3 weeks. Over the last year we have been lucky enough to roast both their washed and natural processed lots with each a trademark representation of floral and fruit-forward Ethiopian coffee.

Our Colombian component is another returning favourite from the Cedro Alto Collective, in this case representing the Passiflora smallholders - a group of 20 farmers based in Planadas, Tolima. All contributing members adhere to a strict criteria of farming without the use of synthetic pesticides and maintain native trees as a measure of biodiversity. To help with processing and market access they have partnered with Cedro Alto, a producer-owned exporter that promotes economic sustainability as a means of improving social and environmental conditions. With fixed prices much higher than the commodity market this group is now making more than 5 times their previous yearly income.
