Logistics & Customer Service Assistant
We have an exciting opportunity to grow the team with a new role as a Logistics and Customer Service assistant. The primary focus of this role is to provide day to day interactions with wholesale and webshop customers; responding to calls/emails, processing orders, booking couriers and communicating with the team to make sure a smooth and efficient service is provided.
Ideally, you will have experience working in specialty coffee in some capacity as knowledge around talking about coffee will be a frequent occurrence. This role is suited to someone who is thorough and has an eye for detail as you will spend time processing orders, maintaining customer information and invoicing. As this role is the central hub for our wholesale and retail coffee comings and goings, you will also need to have strong administration skills and be able to multi-task and follow up and follow through with customer queries and managing priorities.
This role is based at our HQ in London Fields, working alongside a team of 3 with overlapping interactions with our sales, after sales and roastery operations.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Assist with customer facing phone reception, order taking and incoming enquiries for both wholesale and retail.
- Invoicing and taking payments.
- Maintain and update sales and customer records where appropriate.
- Be a Climpsons Customer Service champion
- Assist customers by trouble shooting and problem solving any equipment and coffee related concerns
- Assist with the implementation of processes for follow up calls with new customers, new opening and trainings.
- Liaise with the Roastery and Logistics department to ensure timely deliveries.
- Communicate important feedback from customers internally
- Assist with managing CRM software and coordinating the training diary where required
- Assist the sales team with upselling coffee, filter, ancillaries and equipment
- Assists the sales and marketing team in communicating new coffees or events
- Assist the finance team with day to day credit control
- Attend and contribute to weekly meetings.
- We also expect most staff to regularly attend monthly evening cuppings. Also, given the packed industry calendar we share the participation around the company and you may be asked to travel to these events on occasion.
- The role may include 3 Saturdays per month
Key Requirements
- Barista experience is advantageous
- Technical espresso machine equipment knowledge is not a requirement but an interest is essential. Training provided.
- Good customer service skills
- Spreadsheet management
- Scope to progress in the technical service lane
- Proven work experience in the specialty coffee industry and administration is preferable.
- Hands-on experience with CRM software and MS Office (MS Excel in particular).
- Exceptional written and verbal English.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
- A team player with a high level of dedication and strong customer service.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines.
- Full clean driving licence and ability to drive is advantageous, but not essential
- Saturday shifts will be rota’d up to 3 times per month.
Salary - £24,000-£26,000 starting rate depending on experience
