Mind, Body and Barista : Conversations on Mental Health for Coffee People

Something different for our January Cupping Club. We will always love exploring the technical side of coffee, but we’re starting the year with a wider conversation on a topic close to our hearts.

With 68% of employees leaving the coffee industry within their first 2 years, we’re opening the floor to discuss the state of our mental health in the coffee industry. Long hours, unpredictable interactions with the public, unstable employment and perceived lack of career progression can have a huge impact on our mental health. What can employers do to support their team's mental health? And what should employees look for in a workplace?

Join us and our insightful panellists to discuss, question and probe into this topic and explore ways that we can improve the state of ours and our peers' mental health whilst continuing to do the work we love. Let's be part of making this industry the best it can be. Creating an environment for growth, happiness and thriving at work.

Meet the Panel:

Rachel Kerr-Lapsley, Managing Director of Kelly’s Cause

Olajide Alabi, Co-Founder of Sisu Equity, Inclusion & Wellbeing Agency

Hans Cooke (AKA Cap’N’Chino), Host of Flat White and Insights

Rebecca Wooden, Marketing Executive at Climpson & Sons & Yoga Teacher
