Job Description: Barista Trainer
Reporting to National Account Manager
Salary band: £26,000 - £28,000 (Based on experience)

Key Tasks:
A key aspect of our wholesale offering is adding value to support our customers with barista training - from introduction to specialty coffee, through to advanced coffee making. One aspect of the role is to educate and support wholesale customers to a high professional standard of coffee making. You will find success in hosting and running impactful training and support for improving quality and communications around specialty coffee and our offering. The other area of focus is to organise and host retail customer workshops and training, working with home enthusiasts to get the best out of their brew.
This role is primarily based at our Training Academy in London Fields, Hackney.
Key days: Full time with a regular weekend day.
- Booking and organising barista training sessions for our wholesale customers.
- Educating our customers to a high standard of coffee knowledge and brewing as per the Climpson & Sons training curriculum
- Relationship maintenance and building: our customers require attention, visits on a regular basis and follow ups on training.
- Scheduling follow up visits and setting KPIs for impactful training
- Supporting and reporting to the team on a daily basis
- Keep up with developments in coffee making and communicate them to our customers.
- Daily use of booking platform and CRM software to keep customer details and interactions up to date and accounted for
- Administration of online training platform such as registration of customers and updating content
- Attend training “calibration” sessions and regular cuppings.
- It is expected you will provide occasional on the spot training and also may receive out-of-hours contact from customers occasionally.
- You will support customers with ‘trouble shooting’ and technical assistance
- Organising, hosting and teaching the retail barista courses and workshops.
- Hosting monthly roastery tours and cupping sessions for customers
- Supporting themes and hosting Cupping Clubs. Managing communication and attendance of customers.
- Supporting with coffee and new product campaigns
- Creating written and video content for training materials
- Writing and/or submitting content for the wholesale and retail newsletter
- Trade shows: you will be expected to represent the company at various trade shows
Skills & Qualifications
An outgoing personality and a true passion for working with people
A love for specialty coffee and the industry as a whole
Previous training experience or experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
A minimum of two years working in a high-end speciality coffee environment with ideal experience in supervising or management.
Demonstrable skills in teaching people about coffee with patience and kindness
Exceptional coffee preparation skills and coffee knowledge
Experience in alternative brew methods
It would benefit to be active in the industry
You will have a professional attitude and be a problem solver.
An understanding of the ins and outs of running a cafe
Excellent communication and organisation skills
Fluent in written and spoken English
Experience with equipment and trouble shooting.
