In the SCA Barista Skills Foundation Course you will learn all the essential skills you’ll need to thrive as a specialty coffee barista. This course will cover; dialling in a grinder to recipe, pouring espresso, foaming and texturing milk.

With more and more hospitality businesses switching to specialty coffee, these skills behind the espresso machine are essential for anyone who works with coffee. After this training you will be able to produce expertly made drinks with confidence.

The training is provided by Jon Townsend at The Institute of Coffee.

Required exams, passing scores: Written Exam 60%

This module takes place in-person at Climpson & Sons HQ at Unit 5 Helmsley Place, Hackney, E8 3SB.

    We can only accommodate the people having bought a ticket beforehand. 

  • SCA Courses - Can my booking be cancelled after confirmation?

    Yes. Bookings may be cancelled with a minimum of 5 working days notice before the course start date by contacting us via email or phone. We will then issue you a refund within 2 working days.

  • What happens if my course is cancelled?

    We always endeavour to ensure this does not happen but on the off chance that we can’t avoid it we will ensure to contact you as soon as possible via the contact details you supplied to us when booking your course. You will be offered either to re-book for a future date or receive a full refund.
