The Story

Navigating the Colombian supply chain can be complicated territory for both producers and buyers. In this case, the cooperative Tolima Fenix represents their members to provide price certainty and help with processing and market access. The cooperative works with local exporter Azahar to showcase the quality and value of their coffee with a model that promotes financial transparency and equally values the environmental and economic pillars that should underpin specialty coffee.

The varieties grown here are the more stable and productive Colombia, Caturra & Castillo with the notion that their combined production of classic washed coffee is more sustainable than risking trendy variety microlots.
All contributing members also adhere to a strict criteria of farming without the use of synthetic pesticides and maintain native trees as a measure of biodiversity.

Our ambition is to continue sourcing, roasting and crafting the finest coffees from the heart of East London.
