This course is for anyone who already has experience brewing coffee and is looking to further their skills. The SCA Brewing Intermediate course builds on concepts and skills introduced in the SCA Brewing Foundation course. You will cover wide ranging topics including; the science of extraction, the process of different brewing devices and the interchangeable variables to consider when brewing coffee.


Using a scientific and measured method to chart coffee extraction you will leave this course with the confidence and knowledge to deliver a delicious and well-balanced cup of filter coffee.


For those working in specialty coffee, the ability to brew an excellent filter coffee will help to set yourself apart on the barista career path. In the SCA Brewing Intermediate Course you will gain an essential skill to thrive as a specialty barista. For enthusiastic home brewers, you will walk away with the skill and confidence to get the best out of your brewing equipment of choice.

Recommended Prerequisite: SCA Brewing Foundation

This module takes place in person at Climpson & Sons HQ at Unit 5 Helmsley Place, Hackney, E8 3SB. Minimum Length: 14 hours

    We can only accommodate the people having bought a ticket beforehand. 

  • SCA Courses - Can my booking be cancelled after confirmation?

    Yes. Bookings may be cancelled with a minimum of 5 working days notice before the course start date by contacting us via email or phone. We will then issue you a refund within 2 working days.

  • What happens if my course is cancelled?

    We always endeavour to ensure this does not happen but on the off chance that we can’t avoid it we will ensure to contact you as soon as possible via the contact details you supplied to us when booking your course. You will be offered either to re-book for a future date or receive a full refund.
