People. Planet. Processing.

Bruno de Souza is a fourth-generation coffee producer and follows in his father's footsteps in championing the potential of high-quality Brazilian coffees. Having founded a green coffee import business in the US he then returned to Brazil to share his knowledge with local producers. With his own farm as a model of excellence, Bruno is able to support other farmers with processing and export guidance as well as offering barista, sensory and Q grading courses. Over the past decade he has been moving towards a fully contained organic farm along with re-building his own processing mill.

Situated near Campos Altos in the Cerrado Mineiro region, Fazenda Esperança is seen as an industry innovator in pushing forward separation of specific varieties and improving processing standards. This lot is a prime example of this innovation with Bruno separating the smaller peaberries of his Rubi variety. Dried as a natural process this makes for a concentrated and complex coffee, showing that size isn't everything when it comes to flavour.
