People. Planet. Processing.

We haven’t had a coffee from Indonesia for quite some time, so we’re especially pleased to share this one. Sourced from Shirani and Christian at Indochina, it stood out immediately for its vibrancy and sheer drinkability. It’s not the typical Indonesian profile or processing style, which made it feel like a natural fit for the Fields range. It’s new to us, and it may be new to you too — so consider this an invitation to explore something a little different together.

The Nola Wonga Farmers Group was formed in 2014 with the purpose of preserving some of the rare coffee production on the Indonesian island of Flores. As many farmers have converted to vegetable crops the group provides financial & horticultural support to those continuing to grow specialty coffee. This belief and investment in coffee production has already had a profound impact on the local community, resulting in improved prices, biodiversity and job opportunities.

While Northern Indonesian coffees are known for their wet-hulled process and earthy flavours, the coffees from Nola Wonga stand apart for their crisp and clean processing. By emphasizing colour sorting at each processing stage, they are able to showcase the true potential of Indonesian coffee.
